I am a Los Angeles-based twentysomething. I have a profession, and I have a secret life in music, and this blog isn't about any of that. I like Blogger because I can't read what you're thinking.

MORE SOFT ROCK WITH LESS TALK
97.1 FM went off the air last Friday.
Adam Corolla said in his second-to-last-broadcast that the LA radio market is terrible because it's limited to "stupid people and Mexicans."
Bitter Bill is upset that blocks of Rihanna and ranchero playlists are more profitable than he'll ever be.
Corolla always seemed like Shasta Cola. It tries so, so hard to be Coca-Cola, and even goes out of its way to overcompensate by being available in 3-liter form. The thing about Coca-Cola is that, well, it's always brilliant and funny, even in 8 oz. bottle form.
Corolla never really understood the radio format. Radio 101 for any cast of characters is that you give equal time to each other and avoid, at all costs, talking over each other.
Corolla would just never shut the fuck up.
I don't think any market wants an incredulous, nasal-voiced name dropper yelling at them for 3 fucking hours every goddamn workday of the week.
Less Corolla and less Leykis in the LA waves? Corolla, I think LA just got a little smarter.
Frosty, Heidi & Frank, on the other hand, will be missed.
Rumors are going around that the demise of 97.1 FM is owed to Tom Leykis' refusal to sacrifice pay for the good of the company. While the rest of the personalities agreed to said cut, Leykis didn't, and was instrumental in the destruction of the station.
Colleagues tell me it's not a rumor.
I APPRECIATE ALL THE THINGS YOU DO FOR US, PROFESSOR LEYKIS!!! BLOW ME UP, TOM!!! I'M A FUCKING MORON!!!!!!!! DUHRRR DUHRRRR DUHRRRRR DUHRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
