THE REALITY OF ART

The reality of art is that it will eventually become work (that is if you really care for it.)

"Oh, we just want to make a living off our art."

That's just code for, "We want our art to make money." It's okay to say that. After all, you need money to live and grow.

But in order for you to "make a living" off your art, you need to work.

It's that fucking simple.

When it comes down to anything -- office project, album creation, movie making, etc. -- the people you work with will determine how far you can go.

But you can't blame everyone for hindering you from achieving your own artistic goals.

You can only blame yourself for picking the wrong people to work with.

And, boy, have I been doing a lot of self-blaming for the past 5 years.
