WE SURVIVED

I can sum up Day 1 of Coachella in one sentence.

Weezer
are sooo back with a reborn Cuomo who now jokes with his audience, Wilco still kick ass despite the rehab'd Tweedy, Eisley will be on my iPod when I get one soon, Coldplay ensured fans with another promising album, Bauhaus scared the living shit out of me, Amp Fiddler made spectators aware of a funk/hip-hop tent that was just absolutely stompin', Jamie Cullum sang Cole Porter and Radiohead covers (and was good!), Snow Patrol made me yawn a couple of times, Doves did NOT show up and made me VERY disappointed, Keane had an exceptional set to sing along to (one of my funnest, in fact), I unfortunately missed The Raveonettes, Chemical Brothers, Rilo Kiley, M83, Bloc Party, and Cafe Tacuba, and about 30 more acts to my disadvantage, and after 8 or 9 hours of being in a car and awake for about 26 hours straight, my living room turned out to be a fine place for The Girlfriend and I to pass out.

It was hot. Fun. Loud. So fucking great on so many levels. I can NOT wait to do it again next year!

Kudos to The Smith for the long-endured drivin'. Woo. I don't know how he did it. Well, maybe I do. Cocaine and Red Bull, that's for sure.

Pictures coming soon!
