THE OVERWEIGHT MIRAGE

Heard a commercial in the car this morning, while driving to the hardware store.

"DREYER'S Ice Cream. Now with half the fat!"

Then the next commercial came on.

"DIET DR PEPPER -- Same great taste, with less calories!"

If these companies claim that their new, diet-ish products taste the same, why won't they just make it the standard? What's the point of having two products that taste the same, but differ in calories and/or fat volume?

They might as well call one "TASTES GOOD, AND KINDA GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH" and the other one "TASTES JUST AS GOOD, BUT WILL BRING YOU CLOSER TO DEATH".

Makes sense, I say.

Detroit's victory is tonight, and I am going to miss it. It will be the third high school graduation I'll be attending in a span of two weeks. I can't stand high school speeches. 98% of them suck. Blurgh.
