I GOT THE 'I FEEL SUPER STUPID' BLUES
The Girlfriend and I had three shows in one week. We're show'd out. Honestly. Well, at least 2/3s show'd out.
Last night, The Girlfriend and I headed to the House of Blues in Downtown Disney to see the John Mayer Trio. I was incredibly excited because I find Mayer to be an exceptional guitarist, and to see him in a strictly-blues setting seemed beyond exciting.
After waiting in line for nearly two hours, the doors had opened. Oh, the pre-show thrill!
The ticket scanning guy stopped us.
Beep. Beep beep beep.
He asked, "Hey, where did you get these tickets?"
We gayly responded, "We're in the fanclub, 'kay?"
"The JOHN MAYER TRIO? THAT WAS YESTERDAY!!! TONIGHT'S CHEVELLE!"
You know that feeling when you're excited to your head for something, and you get your hopes up, and then it's all flushed down the figurative toilet in a matter of seconds?
Yeah, that happened to me. It was one of my worst nightmares becoming a horrible reality.
I was extremely, extremely disappointed. I blame it on the distraction and confusion that comes with going to three live shows in a span of one week.
Sure, it's 105 bucks down the toilet, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Yeah, it blows because I know this blues thing Mayer is on won't last for long, but at least there's a live CD of this format coming out soon. Pft, who am I kidding, I missed out big time!
The Girlfriend and I got a good laugh out of it after I had overcome my petty sadness. An exciting game of Uno followed the post-disappointment trip to Sephora and dinner at the House of Blues.
