I am a Los Angeles-based twentysomething. I have a profession, and I have a secret life in music, and this blog isn't about any of that. I like Blogger because I can't read what you're thinking.

BEYONCE FTW

Join my Facebook group. I don't know why I stick around if everyone on my network successfully annoys the shit out of me on a consistently hourly and daily basis. Every status update makes me shudder.

Hint to find my Twitter page: If I were inanimate, how would you answer a Jeopardy question where the answer (and the question) is my first name? #mindfuck

Things are looking up this week. Not one, but two music groups have cast me on board as their member keyboardist in recent days. The first is an R&B/neo-soul singer (first)-named Kim (whose YouTube clips gave me serious chills) and the other is a really excellent indie-Americana/roots group that is starting up. The best part? They're more neurotic about progress than I've ever been. I'm excited to be taught a thing or two (or three or four or five...)

I've found that using the line "I have pretty decent press and club connections" is a hook and sinker on top of my favorite audio sample of my playing. It's called "an edge." Use one!

This time, though, no high hopes for "the next step," no matter how little that step is. I'm just going to breathe and play and remember that, if things are meant to happen, they're meant to happen. I'm just so incredibly happy to be able to play with people again, and in two completely different genres.

Hell, I'm in such a good mood, it merits a great song. Take it away, Billy:

(Saw this live. Almost cried through pretty much every song in this guy's set. It's so lush!)
